Bruce Margolin has a plan to save our nations largest and wealthiest
state from its economic crisis:
1. Take California's No.1cash crop off of the black market and
tax the sale and distribution of Marijuana in the state.
As the 30-year director for LA NORML (National Organization for
the Reform of Marijuana Law) and a top defense attorney in the state
of California, Mr. Margolin knows the facts of this costly prohibition.
We can raise billions of dollars in revenue for the State, not only
through the taxation of this valuable medicinal herb and the related
hemp industry but also through vast savings in law inforcemnt and
incarceration costs.
2. Use his power as Governor to pardon and release all persons imprisoned
by the State on nonviolent marijuana charges.
No one belongs in jail because of marijuana.
3. Place a states' rights lawsuit before the US Supreme Court Challenging
the Federal Government to the right to dictate marijuana law in
this state.
As Governor Bruce Margolin can and will place a lawsuit before the
U.S. Supreme Court challenging the Federal Government's right to
dictate marijuana law in the state of California.
4. Make California a haven for the billion dollar holistic health
care industry. Mr. Margolin will also aid California's economic
crises by making California a "Haven" for the billion
dollar holistic Health Care Industry by protecting patients and
their practitioners right to decide how to heal themselves when
they are sick.
5. Create tax cuts and tax incentives for environmentally friendly
industries including the hemp. With tax cuts and tax incentives for
environmentally friendly industries, Bruce intends to welcome jobs
back to California while still protecting our environment.
6. Reduce vehicle registration to a flat $35 fee. Mr. Margolin intends
to further assist Californians with their transportation costs with
his controversial plan to reduce vehicle registration costs to a
flat 35.00 fee. Bruce does not believe that the DMV should be a
revenue station for the state.
He believes the way to move people toward public transportation
is through making public transportation more available and more
practical, not by creating heavier tax burdens on automobile owners.
7. Return the Lottery money promised to our schools.
As the father of three children whom have all been educated in the
public school system, and a committed supporter of public education,
Bruce is well aware of our state's obligation to our students and
to their schools. He will work to replace the "lost" lottery
money promised to our schools when the measure to implement the
state lottery was passed some twenty years ago.
Mr. Margolin has been awarded Honorary Teaching credentials from
the L.A. Unified School District for his participation in the Lawyer
in the Classroom Program.
